Fatal Crash in Greene County Claims Life of Richmond Woman

GREENE COUNTY, Va – Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal weekend crash in Greene County.

Spokesperson Corinne Geller reports that the accident happened shortly before one o’clock Saturday morning on Route 33 near the intersection of Goose Pond Road just west of Stanardsville.

A 2017 Nissan Versa was traveling north on Route 33. As the Nissan came into the curve, it crossed the centerline and struck head-on a southbound 2022 Toyota Tundra.

The driver of the Nissan, 30-year-old Alec Burnett of Richmond, died at the scene while the driver of the Toyota, 28-year-old Kevin J. Suarez Escoto of Charlotte, North Carolina, suffered only minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Geller stated that both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
