RICHMOND, Va – Governor Glenn Youngkin announced that 10 Virginia communities will launch new tourism programs to boost their outdoor recreation economy.

Each will receive up to $20,000 through the Virginia Tourism Corporation’s (VTC) DRIVE Outdoor grant program, a tourism development grant program targeting outdoor product development and entrepreneurial expansion throughout the Commonwealth.

One of the areas that will receive the funding is Waynesboro and Tourism Social Media and Marketing Coordinator Megan Swanson says it is still in the works on how the grant will be used.

Harrisonburg will also receive a $20,000 grant and Tourism Manager Jennifer Bell says that money will be used to improve trails in the city such as the Rocktown Trails at Hillendale Park.
