A Harrisonburg-based small business incubator is under new leadership.

The Shenandoah Valley Small Business Development Center has named Allison Dugan as its new director.

In a release yesterday, the center announced Dugan has taken over for former director Joyce Krech, who retired after 23 years at the helm.

Dugan had been the center’s assistant director since 2019. The new boss said that she hopes to continue the center’s signature one-on-one advising practices that can be tailored to a specific business model.

The center operates several special programs, like a small business resiliency program and one aimed at growing black and brown businesses.
