Shenandoah County’s purchase of the former Valley Health Fitness Center in Woodstock is set to go final today.

During a meeting in mid-June, supervisors approved the purchase of the nearly two-acre property for just under 3 million dollars.

According to reports, a provision in the contract stipulated that the deal must be finalized by July 17th.

The board voted 5-1 to approve the purchase of the Hisey Avenue property, with supervisor Brad Pollack the lone voice of dissent.

Early suggestions indicate Shenandoah County Parks and Rec could move into the facility, which will likely remain a public fitness center.
