FOREST, Va. (EMU Athletics) – EMU Men’s Soccer senior goalkeeper Andrew Arledge has been named Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Aug. 31, per a release from the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.

Arledge, a senior from Fredericksburg, Va., put up back-to-back shutout performances in net to help secure a 2-0 start to the 2025 season for the Royals. Arledge tallied seven saves across the two matches, stopping five shots in EMU’s 2-0 win over Grove City on Friday, Aug. 29, followed by two saves in the 1-0 victory over Geneva (Pa.) on Saturday, Aug. 30. Arledge is now up to 17 shutouts for his EMU career.

This marks the second time Arledge has earned ODAC Defensive Player of the Week honors, having received the award during week 8 of the 2024 season.

Arledge and the EMU Men’s Soccer Team will take to the EMU Turf Field for their home opener against John Jay College this Friday, Sept. 5. Opening whistle against the Bloodhounds is set for 4 p.m.
