NEW ORLEANS (JMU Athletics) – For the second week in a row and third time this season, James Madison men’s soccer has been handed Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week honors as Brock Frasier took home the league’s weekly designation Tuesday afternoon.

Frasier captained a Dukes’ backline that shutout Georgia State 1-0 this past Saturday. The Charlotte, N.C. native played a full 90 minutes, helping limit the Panthers to just five shots and two shots on goal, both figures representing half of GSU’s per-game averages in 2026.

Frasier has been a key piece of JMU’s ironclad defense that has held SBC opponents to a league-fewest 0.25 goals per game. Additionally, the Dukes have only yielded a single goal through four matches of conference play in 2026.

It’s Frasier’s first SBC weekly award of his career and the Dukes first non-goalie to win the accolade since Davide Materazzi won it on Sept. 24, 2024. Frasier joins third year goalkeeper Erik Jaspers as the two Dukes to have taken home conference honors this season. JMU’s netminder won the award on Sept. 22 and Oct. 6.

Frasier and the Dukes look to strengthen their grip on the top spot in the SBC, traveling to Statesboro, Ga. to take on Georgia Southern at 7 p.m. Saturday.
