Shenandoah County School Board passes new flag policy

SHENANDOAH COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Shenandoah County School Board unanimously passed a new policy that prohibits any school nor staff from displaying any flag other than the U-S, Virginia or Shenandoah County government flag.

Board member Gloria Carlineo crafted the policy and she explained during last night’s meeting why it must be implemented.

“We should be able to teach our kids without forcing any ideological, political ideas on a child and this is what we should be concerned about, and this is exactly what this policy is going to be doing.”

Other exceptions include the official flag of the Armed Forces as well as the official flag of the public school.
