HARRISONBURG VA: (Rocktown Now) – Today and Wednesday, high pressure building into the Shenandoah Valley behind a departing disturbance will bring mostly sunny skies, lower humidity, and comfortable August weather with dry conditions prevailing. AccuWeather does include the possibility of showers and thunderstorms, although the chance is low.

Beginning Thursday, the high pressure system moves away and a frontal boundary approaches from the west, allowing warmer, more humid air to return. This setup will increase the chances for showers and thunderstorms from Thursday through Saturday, with slightly cooler temperatures arriving as the front lingers near the region.
