This week’s weather: Temperatures rise along with the humidity

HARRISONBURG VA: (Rocktown Now) – High pressure will move off the coast today, allowing a warmer and more humid air mass to move over the Mid Atlantic. Temperatures will climb to near 90 degrees today and Monday and closer to 95 by Tuesday and Wednesday. Heat indices will be in the upper 90’s to low 100’s through Thursday. Little rain is expected, although some severe storms will be possible around Wednesday and Thursday.

Tonight: mainly clear; patchy fog will reduce visibility late and humid. Low 65. Winds light and variable.

Tomorrow: patchy morning fog will reduce visibility; otherwise, sunny to partly cloudy and very warm with a shower in spots in the afternoon. High 88. Winds east-southeast 3-6 mph.

Tuesday: mostly sunny and hot. High 91. Winds west 4-8 mph.

Wednesday: partly sunny and hot. Danger of dehydration and heatstroke if outside for extended periods of time. High 94. Winds west 3-6 mph.

Thursday: sunny to partly cloudy and hot with a thunderstorm. Any thunderstorm can cause flash flooding and damaging winds. High 96. Winds west 4-8 mph.

Friday: clouds and sun. A thunderstorm is possible. High 89. Winds light and variable.
