HARRISONBURG, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – Bus riders in Virginia will soon be able to take one long ride from the Valley to the coast.

The commonwealth Department of Rail and Public Transportation announced Tuesday that the Virginia Breeze Bus Line is adding a fifth route that will connect Harrisonburg to Virginia Beach.

When it opens, the route will be known as the Tidewater Current, and will provide two-way service across the state every day of the year.

A one-way trip is expected to take around six-and-a-half hours.

Ticket pricing has not yet been determined, but the agency says the line should start running next year.
