HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Governor Glenn Youngkin and Attorney General Jason Miyares stopped by the Rockingham County Fair Monday.

Both took the time to walk around the fairgrounds and meet with locals.

During a press conference, Youngkin highlighted several agricultural organizations and the benefits of their work.

“It’s such a great foundation for the largest industry in Virginia, agriculture,” the Governor said. “That’s what we’re celebrating. We’re celebrating community, and we’re celebrating agricultural roots.”

Youngkin added that Monday’s visit was his fifth year in a row attending the Rockingham County Fair.

Attorney General Miyares, a graduate of James Madison University, said, “I’d say this is the best county fair in the entire country because it represents the best of the Commonwealth. (There are) great people here in here in the Shenandoah Valley. Some of the best years of my life was living here, so it’s always great to ‘come home’ as they say.”

The fair continues through Saturday.
