HARRISONBURG VA: (Rocktown Now) – A very warm and humid air mass will be with us for the work week ahead. Only a scattered shower or thunderstorm is expected from midweek on. Temperatures will reach the low and mid 90’s and humidity will drive the heat index to 100 or slightly higher. The National Weather Service says current guidance shows the potential for temperatures mid week to possibly reach 95 to 100 in some parts of the state. This will depend in part on the amount of cloud cover we see.

Thursday: partly sunny and hot with a thunderstorm. Any thunderstorm can cause flash flooding
and damaging winds. High 96. Winds west 4-8 mph.

Friday: hot with times of clouds and sun; a couple of afternoon thunderstorms. Thunderstorms
can bring hail and damaging winds. High 91. Winds northwest 4-8 mph.
